For over 20 years, I have worked in Lake County real estate along Chicago's North Shore helping clients buy, sell, stage and improve their homes.
Much of my work with Sellers is during the weeks and months prior to the first showing. In addition to reviewing comparable home sales history, I help clients see their home from a buyers’ point of view. I am fairly hands on as we rearrange furniture and accessorize often without spending money. The "before and after" pictures are amazing. I also advise on what items to put away or toss, and refer contacts for repairs, painting and house cleaning. Depending on how long a seller has lived in a home, several visits may be made and the “to do” list is re-prioritized until the home is “photo ready”.
My goal with Buyers has always been to make a “Smart Buy”, one with a good location and floor plan that needs little work but offers the best resale. The last few years, transferees with Abbott Labs, AbbVie or Kraft-Heinze have been quick to make improvements and repairs, so they can enjoy the changes sooner & are ready to sell when that time comes. I am happy to share my list of contractors and suggestions for improvements which have been most successful with other clients.
Since 1994, I have earned several sales awards while with Century 21 Kreuser & Seiler, including the ultimate Century 21 Centurion Award, the corporate equivalent to the Emmy or Oscar. My office merged with Baird & Warner in 2017. BW is one of the oldest family owned real estate companies in Chicago and is a top selling firm with 29 local area offices.
In June 2006, I finished my MBA at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, during which I elected to take three of the international trips to Europe, Asia and Brazil for an emphasis in International Marketing. We competed in teams not unlike the television show The Apprentice, solving real business problems for real companies overseas. The experience was unbelievable and took us to London, Berlin, Warsaw, Cambridge, Beijing, Bangkok, Rio & Sau Paulo.
Working with people, solving problems and doing research is what I enjoy most. I know I am lucky in that I am one of those people who get to do what they love for a living. A decade in advertising and sales has prepared me to do a better job at marketing and negotiating for my clients. My passion for home, garden and architecture helps me see additional possibilities and gives me great ideas to “stage” homes so they show their best. My experiences from moving twelve times with two children and living in six states has given me first-hand knowledge of the stresses and challenges families face when up-rooting their lives.
Just ten years ago, I found a little house buried in the woods that reminds me of the seclusion and greenery I enjoyed most about growing up in the Redwoods of Northern California. I love coming home to the changes of scenery, color and wildlife and have slowly been making updates inside and out. So, whatever your dream home or setting, I would like to help you find yours.

You can have information sometimes days before it downloads from our local Realtor owned site (MLS-Multiple Listing Service/MRED Midwest Real Estate Data) to the other commercial real estate web sites and you won't fall in love with a home that is already under contract or closed.
If you need help determining the value of your home, you can request a report (CMA/BPO) that includes the prices of similar homes that have recently sold or are currently for sale in the Lake County area. Many websites claim to do this online using square footage and sold prices within a few miles, but the reality is that so much of your home's value depends on location, setting, view, floor plan, condition and upgrades-- which can only be judged in-person by a qualified Realtor or Appraiser.
